Buffalo City Mission Thrift Store Makeover With Valu Crew And Pratt & Lambert Paints

Valu Crew volunteers and Pratt & Lambert Paints collaborated to provide the Buffalo City Mission Thrift Store with a much-needed makeover.

For two days, Valu Crew volunteers prepped, primed and painted the space that will become a new donation center and administrative office.

“We cannot help those afflicted by poverty and homelessness to rebuild their lives without support from local businesses like Valu Home Centers and Pratt & Lambert Paints who volunteer their time and resources to improve the Thrift Store” said Stuart Harper, CEO and Executive Director of the Buffalo City Mission.

Pratt & Lambert Paints, a longtime vendor partner of Valu Home Centers, generously donated all of the paint to complete the project.

From Scott Stoberl, Sales Representative at Pratt & Lambert Paints, “For over 150 years, Pratt & Lambert has been proud to support those communities where we live and work. We are humbled by the opportunity to stand alongside Valu Home Centers and the Buffalo City Mission.” But that’s not all – Scott volunteered with Valu Crew to help get the job done! He worked hard painting all day, and shared his expert painting knowledge with our Valu Home Centers Team.

“At Valu Home Centers, we are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the communities that have supported us for the last 49 years.”

“Our Valu Crew volunteers are proud to be here lending their time and talent to give the Buffalo City Mission Thrift Store a fresh new look, and to aid in the fight against homelessness and hunger in Western New York. We are very thankful to our longtime vendor partner Pratt & Lambert Paints for their support of this community event, as well as many others throughout our history together,” said Doug Wasiura, Vice President of Marketing & Development at Valu.

The Buffalo City Mission impacts the lives of low-income families and individuals across WNY by helping to meet their practical needs, while helping people find hidden treasures they’ve been searching for.

All the proceeds from the store return to the Buffalo City Mission, helping to provide the financial assistance for its programs and services. The Buffalo City Mission provides many opportunities to volunteer. To learn how you can volunteer for a day of service with your organization, church, or school at the Buffalo City Mission, please contact the Volunteer Department at 716-854-8181 x408.
