You may have seen Grace in our TV commercial for this year’s Make A Change campaign. She is a proud advocate of the Renaissance Campus, and uses her on-screen talent to encourage viewers to contribute to this worthy cause. Watch the commercial below, and read about the exciting new skills Grace is learning today – in her own words!
“Over the past couple of years I’ve discovered a lot about myself, through different jobs and life styles.
I came from the Renaissance Campus 5 years ago as a client and since then I’ve been searching for my niche in life. I started out at Valu as a cashier and learned a lot about the home improvement aspect by seeing products people would buy in unison, and also co-workers taking the time to teach me here and there. I then went from Valu back to the Renaissance Campus but this time as a worker. The past year and a half I’ve spent working on the campus I’ve learned a lot about electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and many other interesting trades.
I enjoy so much doing what I am today and hope to give back to those less fortunate.
Valu also works to raise money for Habitat for Humanity where I hope to find myself in the years to come volunteering to help build houses for families in need. I’m very grateful for the path I’ve been blessed on and thank all of those who have donated to both Kids Escaping Drugs and Habitat for Humanity- both are incredible organizations that have done wonders for not only me, but thousands of others.
Thank you for reading and thank you for donating!!”
