On Friday, October 2nd the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Buffalo, NY celebrated their First Annual ReStore Artfest & DIY Contest. We were a proud sponsor of this innovative event, where local DIY enthusiasts competed to create the most original piece of art using ReStore materials!
There were pieces to suit all tastes, from the bright and bold to classic and elegant. All of the finished pieces were auctioned off to raise money to further Habitat’s mission to provide decent, affordable housing to those in need.
This exciting event, held right inside the South Buffalo ReStore, drew quite the crowd! Guests surveyed all of the pieces, placed their bids, and chose their favorite artwork.
Buffalo area upcycling enthusiast, and frequent contributor to the Valu blog, Jackie Hausler of Haus2Home transformed this old cabinet into a beautiful “Buffalove” themed home bar. Check out her ‘before’ photo, you can see that she really put her skills to work!
There was even live music! A great time was had by all.
Congratulations to the South Buffalo ReStore on a fantastic inaugural event!
