Valu Crew & Syracuse Habitat for Humanity

On August 24th, Valu Crew volunteers from our Syracuse area stores joined Syracuse Habitat for Humanity to help work on a home for a local family in need.

Our hard working volunteers spent the day framing and raising walls on the second floor of a great new build. When it comes to community, Valu Home Centers' philosophy is simple - "give where you live." We're proud of all our team members who spent their day giving a hand up, not a hand out, to our neighbors. This house is a unique for Habitat of Humanity because it features a brick exterior - see for yourself in the photos below!

Valu Home Centers has been a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity for 25 years.

We are excited to celebrate the long-standing relationship between Valu Home Centers and Habitat for Humanity with our 2017 Celebration Through Service! Thanks to the generosity of our customers, the dedication of our cashiers, and the advocacy of our media partners, Valu Home Centers has raised and donated over $3.6 million in the last 25 years. We support 15 different Habitat for Humanity affiliates, so that our donors know they are giving where the live. When you donate to our annual Habitat for Humanity fundraiser, Valu Home Centers covers the administrative costs so that 100% of the funds raised go directly toward decent, affordable housing for all.

Valu Crew is a community engagement program that gives every member of the Valu Home Centers team to put their knowledge in action through service.

Valu Crew volunteers take an active role in bettering the communities that we serve, and amaze our customers with their hard work and dedication. This initiative puts the do-it-yourself knowledge of the Valu Home Centers Team in action through service to our community
