Many members of the Valu Home Centers team are DIY enthusiasts themselves, and Nora Kerstetter at our location in Meadville, PA is no exception!
Nora found a great way to light up her Halloween decorations to make sure they could be seen from the road. She used a few products from Valu and a lot of creative thinking to get her spooky lawn display looking great!
"You see I live on Rt. 322 which is a highway. It's very hard to see an unlit decoration from the road. So I took a foam grave yard set that was left over from last halloween and last year you could not tell what it was, also the headstones were always blowing over. I mounted the headstones to some 2"x6"s that I painted black with Krylon Super Maxx from Valu. I did not want a huge pallet in my front yard so I tore my pallet apart and built a smaller one. Once that was built, I stapled an orange string of lights to the underside. I mounted my foam skull and his hands to the pallet and lit it up. Now I have a display that you can see from the road and stones that stay upright!"
For a project like this, Nora recommends:
- Krylon SuperMAXX All-In-One Spray Paint in Black
- A recycled pallet
- Decorative string lights
- 2" x 6" Lumber
