One Valu store team turned a weight loss challenge into a way to benefit their community!
The team from the Valu Home Centers location in North Tonawanda, NY decided that losing weight wasn’t enough. What started as a weight loss challenge between the store’s team members turned into a collection for the North Tonawanda Inter-Church Food Pantry. The store’s goal was to raise as much food as was lost in weight. This meant the team had to gather 131 pounds of food, which they nearly tripled with a final weigh-in of 360 pounds of food! The team also put together easter baskets for children that need them.
Nancy, sales associate, sums up her experience.
It does make a difference. It makes you feel good to help, but it just brings our store together, too. It’s a good thing.
